Freedom to Live, Love, and Make a Difference!

Updated: Oct 4, 2019

“Every man dies. Not every man really lives.” -William Wallace, Braveheart (1995)

Just imagine, when you’re nearing the end of your life, do you think you will be worried about how much money you made or about the work at the office, or how clean your house was? Probably not. You’ll be asking yourself if you really lived your life to the fullest. Did you really love, I mean really deeply love? What kind of difference did you make in the lives of the people you touched? Were you happy?

On July 4, 1776, the thirteen colonies claimed their independence from England, an event which eventually led to the formation of the United States. Each year on July 4th, also known as Independence Day, Americans celebrate this historic event. It’s about freedom. Yet, ironically, so many of us keep ourselves trapped in our old ways, our old thoughts and beliefs, and we don’t live the life we really want to live. And what’s really stopping us? (If excuses are popping in your head right now, call it like it is and move on!)

So as you’re celebrating Independence Day this year, think about your own freedom and question what kinds of things you are letting stop you from being happy. What kind of difference would you like to make? What shift can you make in your life, whether in your eating habits, your exercise routine, your social or love life, your career, your attitude? Think of one thing you could do differently that would set you free! And then put the play in action, and celebrate your freedom!!

Happy Fourth of July, stay safe, stay happy!
